Before you apply any varnish, make sure your painting is completely dry. Acrylic paintings may feel dry to the touch within a day, but it’s best to wait a few days to a week, especially if you have thick layers of paint, to ensure it’s fully cured. Also, make sure the surface is clean and free of any dust, lint, or debris.
