Hi crafters! I wanted to share a small but surprisingly useful tool I’ve been using during my handmade projects — especially for anything that involves counting rows, stitches, or supplies.
It’s a free online tally counter called Counter Online (https://counter-online.com/). No app to install, works right in the browser, and you can even run multiple counters at the same time if you’re tracking different things.
Here are the ways I use it for arts & crafts:
• Knitting & Crochet — I keep one counter open for rows and another for pattern repeats. Way more reliable than trying to remember or using pencil marks that smudge.
• Cross-Stitch & Embroidery — Perfect for tracking how many stitches of each color I’ve completed, so I don’t lose my place in complex patterns.
• Beading & Jewelry Making — I count beads per row or track how many pieces I’ve finished when making sets for a craft fair.
• Inventory Counting — Before listing items on Etsy or packing orders, I use it to quickly count stock without losing track.
• Repetitive Paper Crafts — When making origami, quilling, or paper flowers in batches, I click the counter after every 10 pieces to stay consistent.
The interface is clean and distraction-free, which I appreciate when my workspace is already full of threads and beads. You can also reset it instantly if you mess up.
